In the viral footage, Sheffield couldn’t help but express his admiration for his mother’s elegance in her wedding gown, his emotions eventually overcoming him. His mother, sensing his tears, tenderly embraced him and asked if they were tears of joy, to which Sheffield tearfully replied:

“I’m just so happy for you.”

Speaking to Good Morning America, Sheffield revealed that memories of his mother’s past relationship struggles flooded his mind as he beheld her in her bridal attire, prompting his tears. A profound realization struck him: “We’ve been through so much, and now we’re finally here.”

Sommer, Sheffield’s mother, recounted how her son managed to compose himself just before their walk down the aisle, only to be moved to tears again upon seeing Jeff waiting for his bride at the altar. For Sheffield, who longed for a complete family, witnessing this union fulfilled a deep-seated desire, granting him the chance to finally call someone “dad.”

The unexpected outpouring of support for the viral video added an extra layer of significance to Sommer’s wedding day. She noted that her son, who typically didn’t show such emotion in public, was deeply affected by the profound joy he witnessed in her.

Adrianna, another participant in the events, shared additional photos from the wedding night, capturing the grand celebration and the realization of a dream for the bride, groom, and their son
