The 81-year-old used to be alone and away from society and the rest of the world in the shack he built. He found a way to get plumbing and electricity into the house, and he even grew his own food and cut firewood himself. Living in seclusion for so long, Lidstone has learned to embrace and appreciate the outdoor lifestyle.
Having had personal problems with his family, Lidstone chose to live away from them and has since gone on to fend for himself. However, he has since developed friendships with locals and passersby in the Canterbury area. Despite a verbal agreement with the landowner to live on the undeveloped property, Lidstone faced his share of legal troubles as he was evicted from his cabin.
It was difficult for the old man to fend for himself as he was enjoying his time in the cabin in the woods. Even after he was evicted from his home, Heartbreak continues to follow Lidstone as he faces another heartbreaking situation.
Although Lidstone has led a reclusive life for almost 30 years, he has managed to make some friends along the way. WMUR-TV reports that boaters on the river near the cabin will spot Lidstone and chat with him from time to time.
