Burg achieved a bold milestone by checking off an adventurous item from her bucket list on her 90th birthday – skydiving. With the assistance of Skydive Buckeye, this nonagenarian fulfilled her lifelong dream. During an interview with AZFamily, Burg shared that her oldest son was initially taken aback by her birthday plans but eventually agreed after she reassured him.

“I told my son, my oldest son, and he just about hit the roof, and then I calmed him down and said, look, that’s what I want to do,” Burg said. “I’m always on the edge of doing things a little different,” she added.

Inspired by former President George H. W. Bush, who skydived for his 90th birthday in 2014, Burg decided to embark on this daring adventure.

“If he can do it, I can do it when I reach 90,” she said. “Lord never thought I’d reach 90. So, here I am, and I’m going to jump.”

On the big day, Burg underwent the necessary preparations, including signing waivers and receiving safety instructions while being secured in a harness. She ascended to 14,000 feet and took the plunge alongside others.

Experiencing a thrilling minute of free fall, Burg described it as “great, just like I was flying.” Following the free fall, she deployed the chute, enjoying a five-minute descent. Touching down, Burg was greeted with applause from her family, who had flown in from Tennessee to witness her fulfill her dream. In the end, Burg offered a piece of advice on living life.

“Do what you want to do while you can still do it,” Burg encouraged.
