Every mother wants to be present at her children’s wedding. Unfortunately, this desire seemed almost impossible for one of the mothers.
Lillian was in intensive care at Southlake Regional Health Hospital and her time was quickly running out.
Due to illness, she was about to die, so she told the nurses her last wish. She wanted to be at her daughter’s wedding, but had a few weeks left until the wedding day. Because the nurses knew she wouldn’t live that day, they quickly took action.
Together with daughter Lillian, they prepared everything needed for the wedding, which took place in the hospital lobby!
In this way, they gave Lillian and her family the opportunity to come together at the last moment, and at the same time they made Lillian their last wish – to live the moment when her daughter marries. The wedding was absolutely dreamy, and Lillian mustered enough energy to pose for pictures with the wedding guests and her daughter.
After the wedding, the nurses took Lillian back to the hospital room where she was sleeping. The next morning they could not wake her – she left our world forever the day after the girl’s wedding.
