Unfortunately for the Amanda the photos are not accompanied by corresponding comments identifying the nurse. Amanda always wondered who the nurse was. Apparently the local Albany officials couldn’t be of any help.

Decades later, the documents are misplaced, lost or destroyed. However, Amanda never gave up hope that she would one day meet the nurse who cared for her.

Today, thank God, social media is here. Connecting with others online can lead to discoveries that would otherwise be impossible. Amanda took a chance by posting black and white photos on Facebook.

She was hoping for an answer. Most likely I was shocked when a response came identifying the nurse as 21 year old Susan Berger.

After 38 years, Amanda finally finds out who gave her comforting care after an accident that nearly killed her.

The two met on a television show in a painful moment. According to CBC, Susan Berger noted in an interview that she had only recently started working as a nurse when the terrible situation with Amanda occurred. Susan was very touched and wanted to do her best to take care of the poor girl.
