After fourteen years of marriage, Catherine Navarro of New Jersey has found happiness in her long-awaited divorce. Now that she’s finally able to be on her own and breathe again, she’s throwing a divorce party.
The wedding started out as a stormy romance, but ended in a long and toxic disaster.
Catherine originally filed for divorce in 2014, but when her husband disappeared, she was forced to prove to the court that she had been looking for him everywhere in vain. She was literally trapped in a marriage without any evidence that her husband could be present in court.
But miraculously, she finally got a divorce after seven years of waiting. She knew that the divorce ceremony would be the way to release her new acquired freedom.
Catherine pulled out all the stops for her party, from the food to the decor. She invited thirty of her closest friends and family and even had cakes with phrases like “Boy, bye” on them.
Her fresh start was reason enough to celebrate, and those who have gone through a long-awaited divorce will likely understand the need for the same celebration.
When you’re in a toxic relationship, married or not, and you’re finally out of it, this is a powerful way to try to escape those trapped feelings and celebrate your freedom.
Perhaps more women should accept the divorce, just as Catherine did. Hey, there’s no reason to have a party, right? what do you think?
