“It’s never too late to rediscover love,” Gerry declared optimistically in his debut interview. He offered a heartwarming insight into his daily routine, where he seeks imaginary approval and support from a photo of Toni.
“Every morning, I give her the nod, ‘So what do you think about this?’ For a while, it was like I was having a hard time figuring out if she would be OK,” confessed the “Golden Bachelor.” “But we always told each other, when one of us goes, we want the other one to be happy,” he explained, showcasing the depth of their love.
Expressing his desire to find a partner who shares his passions and high energy, Gerry highlighted the importance of sports and outdoor activities like pickleball and golf. He hopes to connect with someone possessing a competitive spirit to join him in these ventures.
In a separate interview on the Happy Hour podcast, Gerry emphasized his search for a partner with strong family ties, especially if the woman has children. He believes that a person’s relationship with their family can reveal much about their character, and any issues may “manifest in a number of negative ways.”
Far from nervous about meeting 30 different women on the upcoming show, Gerry is excited and energized about the opportunity, with the show set to premiere on television in the fall of 2023.
“I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about what are the good questions to ask that will reveal character and determine whether someone is a high-energy, competitive person,” Gerry shared on the podcast. As of press time, ABC has yet to announce the premiere date
