The video shows Sloan playing with a pen, wearing a uniform and name tag, and watching his country song sing. Kayla’s performance of the classic country band is truly inspiring. Her delivery was angelic as she sings her touching words: “Although we have no money, I was as rich as I could be in my many-colored coat my mother made me.”

Kayla Slone’s performance gave goosebumps despite her lack of equipment. There’s no microphone to amplify her sound, but her simply stunning performance was enough to make the video go viral once it was uploaded. Viewers left comments like this:

“This girl sings so well. Just like Dolly Parton. She’s a talent from God and we hope she gets recognition.”

Kayla, the wife of a coal miner, went from keeping her music to herself to being recognized by strangers. Many of them even asked him to sing for them. Even the media came to call. Kayla soon found herself giving interviews to outlets such as ABC News.

During her interview, recorded at her workplace, Sloan shared her surprise that her version of the Dolly Parton song was a hit. She also revealed her dream of singing in the Grand Ole Opry.

Luckily, the Grand Ole Opry crew members watched Kayla’s video and decided to grant her wish.

Speaking to ABC News, Opry Vice President and General Manager Pete Fisher said:

“Country music at its best is about real people singing real stories about real life. Predicting how often tokens will drop in the music industry can be very difficult, but it starts with the sound and passion and we are happy to give it the stage.”

Sloan and her husband traveled to Nashville, where Kayla sang “The Coal Mine’s Daughter” by country legend Loretta Lynn. Before Sloan performed the hit song to a large crowd, she received a call from Ms. Lynn. Loretta calls to wish Kayla luck before she sings Lynn’s song, fulfilling her lifelong dream.
