On July 4, 2023, six members of the “Dallas” cast – Landers, Tilton, Van Ark, Gray, Duffy, and Kanaly – gathered for a 45th-anniversary reunion at Oscar’s in Palm Springs, California. During the reunion, they fondly recalled various heartwarming and iconic moments from their time filming the long-running series, including the amusing incident of tossing a then-25-year-old unknown Brad Pitt into the pool.

The cast took a moment to remember the late Larry Hagman, emphasizing his role as the glue that kept the group united. Duffy expressed, “Well, we’re here because of Hagman. That’s what he meant to the show.” Gray added, “He kept everyone together, everyone happy, everybody engaged.” Duffy continued, “And because of his popularity, all of our boats rose with the tide, you know, and we got to ride with him. So, we miss him a lot.”

The discussion shifted to the infamous “Who Shot J.R.?” scene, recalling the heightened anticipation and frenzy in Europe over who took the shot. They disclosed that, at the end of season 3, each cast member had shot J.R. as the writers had not yet decided who the shooter would be.

“Everybody took a shot at (J.R.). I mean, I shot J.R. I think Linda shot J.R. Jim Davis shot him,” Duffy revealed. Audrey Landers added her perspective, mentioning the challenges of keeping the secret before the reveal, especially since there was no social media at the time. Kanaly shared an amusing anecdote about people taking bets on the mystery shooter in Vegas and Europe, with fans reaching out to cast members for inside information
