Rep. Todd Frazier was on patrol with K9 Lucas in Burlington, Mississippi, on Monday when Frazier saw a car in a deserted break.
Hancock County Police Department Sheriff Ricky Adam said the driver of the blue Lincoln Town Car was not moving, so Frazier went to check on him. That’s when two men come out of the shadows and surprise the deputy
Adam told ABC News that “one cut his forehead with a razor blade, one strangled him and another grabbed his legs to carry him to the edge of the woods.”
The men intended to kill the deputy and dump his body in the woods. Luckily, Frazier was able to push a button around his neck that triggered his patrol car’s tailgate and freed K9 Lucas.
Black Belgian Malinois sprung into action and orchestrated the attackers, who then attempted to flee to their car. Lucas was hanging from the leg of one of the assailants and as a result he suffered knocked out teeth and a bruised shoulder.
He was stained with blood which turned out to be from his attackers as he managed to get himself seriously bitten before the men fled.
“Rep. Frasier is a good deputy and takes his job very seriously. He’s also a great dog handler – he trained Lucas himself,” Adam said. All three suspects are still at large. suffered bruises and a cut on his forehead but is expected to be fine thanks to K9 Lucas!
