In a video shared on his Instagram, Johnson provided some background on his teenage years. He detailed the twists and turns, expressing gratitude for the people who changed the course of his life. One such person is his lifelong friend, Bruno Lauer.

Johnson recounted a challenging time at 15 when he and his mom were evicted from Hawaii, and he was sent to live with his father in Nashville. However, upon arrival, he discovered he wouldn’t be living with his dad but with Bruno, who resided in a small room at the Alamo Plaza motel. Despite the uncertainty, Bruno welcomed him, becoming a lifelong friend who even lent Johnson $40 for his first car.

Fast forward nine years, Johnson found himself in need again at the start of his wrestling career in Memphis. Bruno, once more, opened his home, this time in Walls, Mississippi.

To show appreciation, Johnson brought Bruno to the set of “Young Rock,” a TV show based on his life. The surprise culminated in Johnson gifting Bruno his own car as a gesture of gratitude for changing the trajectory of his life.

In the caption, Johnson expressed love and appreciation for Bruno’s kindness, mentioning how Bruno had helped him buy his first car and stating he wanted to return the favor. Bruno’s emotional reaction to the black Ford F150 truck was evident, and Johnson assured him of support even in retirement from “the business.” The post concluded with Johnson extending love to Walls, Mississippi, expressing gratitude, and reaffirming his caring nature toward others, with Bruno being no exception.
