When her daughter, Kaimook, slid into the back seat, Surachat began shouting through her window to other motorists for help. The pain on the father’s face becomes clear as he recounts his daughter’s terrible condition. Her skin was pale and her mouth was green. His hands were shaking and the warmth he felt when he touched her skin.
Fortunately, a 28-year-old biker named Itthiphon Petchphipunpong was available to help the man and his daughter. He saw the frightened father asking for help from anyone who could hear him. He saw the man trying to revive a little girl who was unconscious in the back seat. As soon as he understood the seriousness of the situation, Etethephon started banging on the windows of other drivers. He asks them to make way for the car that Surachat is driving.
Ethephon’s help enabled Surachat to move his car to the side of the road. Then he was able to transfer his daughter from the car to the motorcycle driven by Ethephon. The motorbike moved quickly and Ethephon deftly maneuvered through traffic while taking father and daughter to the hospital. Four minutes later, they arrived at the hospital and Surachat’s daughter received the medical attention she needed.
Kaymook was rescued by paramedics before being transferred to another hospital where further treatment awaited her. Surchat was able to sigh in relief once he was sure of his daughter’s safety. He says he can’t find the right words to thank Ethephon for his help. Ettifon says he didn’t know how to help the girl when he saw she was having an epileptic fit. But he knew he could take her to the hospital on his motorcycle.
