In an interview with Today Parents, Driskell revealed that managing the 6-seat stroller became impractical. “It was just too bulky and inconvenient to take anywhere,” shared the father of quintuplets. He explained that the switch to using a leash provided his children with more freedom to run.
“They want to walk when we go somewhere crowded,” he explained. “A leash gives them the opportunity to do that, but we’re still in control. They love it,” Driskell added.
Acknowledging the benefits, the busy dad emphasized that using the leash grants the entire family more freedom. “For our own peace of mind and sanity, we use a leash. It also allows us to leave the house and do fun stuff as a family without being stressed,” he shared.
Driskell’s post on social media carried the caption, “Come walk a mile in my shoes #dadsofinstagram #fatherhood #DadSquad #moms #momsofinstagram #viralreels #motherhood #kids #Parents #parenting #parenthood #DriskellQuints.”
The online response largely supported the family’s decision to switch from a stroller to a leash. Driskell’s post garnered nearly 7000 comments. One Instagram user expressed support, saying, “There’s nothing wrong with this; I think it’s brilliant. I always used a baby harness with reins on my two, so they were always by me ❤️👏 x.”
Another individual commented, “Better safe than sorry. If I had that many, I would do the same. Rock on!!! ❤️” A different internet user commended Driskell’s choice, considering it responsible parenting with a sizable family, stating, “With 5 kids, you need that 👏 responsible parenting right here.”
