Siblings are often the source of mixed feelings for many of us on a day-to-day basis. However, they can also be a great blessing in life, especially when they support and look out for each other. As an adult, I can say that my siblings have become my best friends over time.

But, there is one little guy who is certainly deserving of the ‘Best Brother’ award.

At the hospital, five-year-old John was taking care of his one-year-old sister, Clara, who was feeling unwell. John immediately stepped up to comfort his sibling, gently rocking her in his arms until she calmed down. Thankfully, mom Danielle captured this beautiful moment on video, and it’s a heartwarming scene that needs to be seen.

Clara Davis, who is one year old, has achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism that affects approximately 15,000 to 40,000 newborns, according to Genetics Home Reference.

Danielle regularly shares updates about Clara and the family on her Instagram page. She reported that Clara was feeling much better the day after her doctor’s visit. John had been asking his parents for a sibling for over a year, according to ABC News. His wish came true when baby Clara arrived, and as the video below shows, he has been taking his big brother responsibilities seriously ever since.

Proud mom Danielle tells Good Morning America that “the kids adore each other” and “he [John] can always make her laugh.” They have their moments of jealousy, but overall, they are very loving towards each other.

Watch the adorable clip for yourself and see the love and affection between these two siblings. It’s a beautiful reminder that the bond between siblings is truly special and can last a lifetime.
