the father. Ray Kelly was 64 when he auditioned for BGT in 2014, a British TV talent show whose lead judge on the show is no less than Simon Cowell. When the father called. Ray appeared in front of the judges and exchanged jokes with them.

The 64-year-old priest chose a song called “Everybody Hurts,” an original song by popular American rock band from Athens, Georgia, R.E.M.

His introduction of the song literally rocked the room as he received thunderous applause and standing ovations from the judges and the live audience of the show.

“My parents were musicians”, Father. Share Kelly. “Growing up in a family of musicians, we held awards every time we shared our talents,” “I knew I could do pretty well, but I never saw the great comments from the judges coming.”

“I decided to go ahead not really knowing what to expect,” he said sarcastically.

But even before joining the talent show, the father said. Kelly caused a stir on social media when he was recorded singing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at a church wedding in his parish. The video uploaded to YouTube has garnered over 10 million views.

“I’ll tell you something. This is one of my all-time favorite auditions! I think you guys look amazing. I love the version of the song. It’s everything we’ve been waiting for . I absolutely loved it,” Simon said.
