When Jordan was a baby, he was adopted to a foster home. Ingeborg McIntosh had to undergo a difficult process to become his adoptive mother. This is because the biological mother of Jordan had wanted biracial or African-American parents to adopt her son. Her plans never were successful and Ingerborg adopted him. Jordan grew to love Ingeborg McIntosh and wherever he had to speak of her, tears would roll down his cheeks.

Ingeborg McIntosh confessed that she experienced love at the first sight when Jordan was placed in her arms for the first time. She said that he instantly became part of her family. After more than 20 years of living together, she was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease, which meant that she needed another kidney for her to survive. When Jordan heard this, he decided to donate his kidney to her without her knowing. He took a match test and the results matched.

Jordan said he felt that it was an amazing thing which he had to do to her at that moment and continued saying that he was ready to do other greater things for her as he grew up. Even though Ingeborg told Jordan to not undergo the operation to donate his kidney, Jordan had already decided to do so.

In return, Jordan said that he was just being grateful to her for all she had done to him since he was a little kid. He continued to say that this was the only way he had to demonstrate to her how much he loved her.
