Whether you’ve never watched it or watched Susan Boyle’s audition clip dozens of times, it never fails to impress. Susan Boyle rose to worldwide fame after her impressive audition for the third season of Britain’s Got Talent.

The episode aired on April 11, 2009, and the singer wowed the judges – and the audience – with her powerful performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical Les Miserables. The audition was such a success that Boyle was credited with skyrocketing ticket sales for a Vancouver theater production of the beloved French music. According to E! Online, Sarah Jane Hozy of the Arts Club Theater in Vancouver said:

“I’m thrilled that Susan Boyle, with her incredible wit and voice, has connected people to the beauty and power of this song. But it’s often a relief that if a bus hits me, the arts club knows exactly who to ask to replace me!”

Boyle’s experience had an immediate and widespread impact that went from nobody’s radar to almost everyone’s Youtube watchlist, but that was just the start of its momentum. Over the next few years, she appeared in many shows and gained more and more fame and fans around the world.

Just two years after her successful audition, Susan Boyle released her own book which tells the story of her less than remarkable upbringing.

“The Woman Born to Be: My Story” is Boyle’s memoir published by Atria Books of Simon & Schuster in the summer of 2011.

The publisher’s website presents Boyle as “a lowly middle-aged woman from a village in Scotland”. The immediate description alludes to the normal life Susan led before she appeared on television, such as “singing karaoke at local bars”.

The book took Susan to another level of joint household inquiry, giving readers insight into how “this amazing transformation hasn’t always been easy for her, in the face of all the trappings of fame, but in the whirlwind of interests and expectations that she always found calm and clarity in music. .Susan was born to sing.
