In 2015, our hearts were broken by a loyal dog in Jacksonville, Florida who refused to leave his owner’s side after a tragic accident. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene where a woman died after being hit by a car and killed.

Kelly Black, 42, was walking her dog Paco when she was killed. As Action News reported at the time, the truck driver probably had no idea hitting Kelly.

When the police arrived, Baku was right next to her, refusing to let go of her body. After her body was removed from the scene, a grieving Baku sat at the crash site for several hours.

sad. Neighbors thought the woman was walking her dog. This person has been lying alone near the crash site for some time pic.twitter.com/f7vADgVIMS

The authorities did their best to try to persuade Baku to accompany them, but their attempts failed.

Baku remained on the scene until the arrival of the Kelly family. Eventually, the dog seemed somewhat happy as he waggled his tail and agreed to get into their car to drive home.
