John shared that on his way to work one Monday, he came across a post from Jordan informing him that Abe, a puppy, had been returned.

This led John to make a life-changing decision, unbeknownst to him at the time. He told Jordan that he was determined to find out why Abe kept getting returned, and ended up bringing the puppy home.

John and his girlfriend decided to rename the puppy “Bean” after Kobe Bryant’s middle name. John was determined to work through any issues Bean had until he found him a forever home.

However, he soon realized how much work Bean was going to be, as the puppy caused endless destruction around the apartment. When COVID-19 hit, John and Bean had to leave town and stay with John’s parents in New Hampshire.

Bean had a great time experiencing new things like snow and swimming, but his favorite activity was running with John.

Although Bean initially had trouble getting along with the family cats, they eventually accepted each other and became inseparable. Bean has brought a lot of joy to John’s family, especially his mother, who has been recovering from breast cancer.

John believes that Bean has taught them all a valuable lesson about perseverance and choosing each other.
