When little baby Aiden decided to make his appearance on February 6 at Amita Health hospital in Chicago, he had no idea he was upholding a long family tradition.

Incredibly, both Aiden’s mother, Kyrsten Moreno, and his grandmother, Nadine Hugmeyer, share the same February 6 birthday!

“I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? Wait a minute!’” recalled Dr. Diane Leonard. “Then I started thinking, ‘Have I ever heard this before? No.’”

The chances of a child, parent, and grandparent all having the same birthday are slim – just one in 48 million!

To celebrate this momentous occasion, hospital staff brought the happy family a cake and sang “Happy Birthday” to all three of them.

An exhausted but ecstatic Kyrsten joked that Aiden’s birthday was payback for all the birthdays she stole from her own mom.

“Well, I definitely stole it from my mom,” she joked. “So I have a feeling this is my payback.”

Neither Kyrsten nor Nadine thought Aiden would actually be born on their birthday.

“I’m like, there’s no way he’s going to be born on my birthday,” Kyrsten said.

Now that he’s here, though, they don’t think his birthday was just chance.

“I don’t think it was a coincidence,” Nadine said. “I think it was meant to be.”
