Kechi had a tough life, many challenges to overcome. As a young girl, she went through a horrifying event when her plane crashed, 107 people died. She and one other passenger were the only ones who survived.
She had a passion for the music, so she decided to pursue it, showing up on America’s Got Talent in the past. Now she’s back on America’s Got Talent: Champions to prove she’s not only a survivor – she’s an incredible talent.
She steps on stage to perform the powerful song – ‘You Are The Reason’ by Callum Scott.
You can tell from her emotional performance she is really feeling the lyrics “climb every mountain, swim every ocean” resonate with her and the audience can feel it too.
So when Simon Cowell tells her he didn’t like it too much, it’s a disappointment for her and the audience. But this only lasts a few seconds because Simon stands up and hits the Golden Buzzer declaring he actually “loved it.” As golden confetti rains down on her, the moment comes as a tremendous surprise to Kechi.
