“We found ourselves in the front row, and Pink gently embraced her for what felt like 20 seconds,” Donkin reminisced. “Leah, who’s just 14 and quite petite, burst into uncontrollable sobs in Pink’s arms,” she added.
“Pink whispered to her, ‘You’re beautiful – please don’t cry – it’s going to be alright,'” Leah’s cousin recalled from that enchanting evening. “Leah shared how much her mom adored Pink,” she continued.
“Pink took a selfie with her, autographed her arm with a marker, then returned to the stage, encouraging everyone to call their mothers,” she recounted.
Leah’s cousin revealed that ever since that concert, Leah has been replaying that moment in her mind. In the midst of her grief over her mom’s passing, that memory has become one of the happiest moments in her life. “She’s heartbroken,” Donkin admitted. “But since the concert, she hasn’t stopped smiling and singing,” her cousin added. Having that memory with the legendary singer is something that Leah’s late mother would have cherished. Donkin told CBS News that Leah’s mom, Debbie, had purchased Pink tickets, envisioning attending the concert with her young daughter.
“When Debbie initially planned to attend the concert, she used to dance around with Leah in the living room, blaring Pink’s music,” Donkin said. “Debbie loved to dance more than anything,” Donkin shared. The family believes that Debbie orchestrated this once-in-a-lifetime experience from heaven.
“I believe she orchestrated the whole thing and sent her little girl a hug from heaven,” Donkin shared
