Interestingly, in January 2019, Kate Middleton also engaged in a conversation on this topic. During her visit to King Henry’s Walk Garden in Islington, London, where she participated in a pizza-making session with a group of schoolchildren, the subject came up.
As reported by Us Food, one of the children asked the Duchess of Cambridge if the Queen had ever sampled pizza. Kate responded with curiosity, saying:
“You know, that’s a really good question. I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe next time I see her, shall I ask?”
If the Queen’s personal chef of 15 years had never been instructed to prepare pizza for Her Majesty, and her granddaughter-in-law couldn’t recall ever witnessing the Queen enjoying pizza, it seems quite plausible that the Queen simply doesn’t partake in this popular dish.
Kate, on the other hand, appears to have a different view on pizza. She mentioned that she is a fan of the Italian delicacy and enjoys it with toppings like bacon or “some other meat.” It appears that her husband, Prince William, also shares her love for pizza. Chef McGrady, who spent the final four years of his time as a royal chef at Kensington Palace, cooking for the late Princess Diana and her young sons, noted that pizza was frequently on the menu, with Prince William being a big fan. In the same interview with Us Food, McGrady shared:
“I [made] pizza all the time for William. In my second cookbook, The Royal Chef at Home, there’s a chicken tikka masala pizza [recipe] because he loves Indian food. The pizza combined the two.”
While pizza and Indian cuisine are considered common in modern diets, the question of whether Her Majesty has ever indulged in these culinary delights remains unanswered for now
