Kids today seem to be able to do things that are well beyond their age. Children nowadays often start school with the prerequisite knowledge of reading and writing. They’re also whizzes at technology, often better than many adults. Even toddlers are a lot smarter than what we used to be at their age; thanks to the tremendous exposure they get at such an early age. This particular boy is a perfect example of such children, or so he claims to be, till he’s tested with a series of questions. What happens at the end of this question–answer session will leave you in splits. Oh! One more thing, before you start reading the post any further, if you are of the opinion that you are more intelligent than a school-going kid, think again. This could be a reality check for you too; try answering the questions asked before reading the boy’s responses. Excited? Let’s start.

Johnny, is the boy we were referring to in the above few lines, his teacher was having a lot of issues with him in class, and one day with a lot of frustration enquired about his uptight behavior, Johnny was upfront and like most kids his age, he promptly replied– “I’m too smart for the first grade, my sister is in the third grade and I’m smarter than her too.”

Stunned and unable to decide on how to handle the situation, she took Johnny to the principal. She decided that she would question Johnny about everything a third grader should know and very rightly, if he can answer he would be promoted. This is how the session went on;

Principal: “What is 3 x 3?”

Johnny: “9.”

Principal: “6 x 6?”

Johnny: “36.”

After a while, the principal told the teacher— “I see no reason Johnny can’t go to the third grade, he answered all of my questions right.” Still unconvinced, Johnny’s teacher asked the principal if she could also question Johnny, before the final decision is made. The principal told her to go right ahead and clear her doubts about Johnny’s promotion. This is what she had to ask him;

Teacher: “What does a cow have 4 of that I only have 2 of?”

Johnny: “Legs”

Teacher: “What do you have in your pants that I don’t have?”

Johnny says, “Pockets.”

Teacher: “What does a dog do that a man steps into?”

Johnny: “Pants.”

Teacher: “What starts with F and ends with K and means a lot of excitement?”

Johnny: “Fire truck.”

After the question answer session was over, this is what the principal had to say, “Put Johnny in the fifth grade, I got the last 4 questions wrong myself.”

Be truthful guys, I am sure you too didn’t get all the answers right, for reasons we won’t get into, here. But Johnny definitely deserved to be a fifth grader, don’t you think so?
