Senior Private John Hitchcock noticed a tractor-trailer on the side of the highway in Underwood, Iowa, with its dangers.

He went to look and found that the driver was unconscious and not breathing. He knew he had to perform CPR and quickly pulled the man out of the car in an attempt to revive him.

It was then that help arrived. Hitchcock’s dashcam records Pottawattamie County Police Department Deputy Kurt Ferguson working to help Hitchcock.

The two men got the driver out of the car and out of danger when they were joined by another assistant, fire department captain Curtis McKeown, who was off duty at the time and driving.

Men from separate agencies all worked together and resuscitated the dying man until paramedics arrived. Their teamwork saved the life of a semiconductor. He is now recovering.
