A resident of a building in Edinburgh was sleeping soundly when their two cats, Daisy and Dexter, entered the room with a warning.
The owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was stunned by the cats actions and thought the delivery man must be at the door or something. But they looked through the peephole in the front door and saw the flames.
The resident told Edinburgh Live: “I was lying in bed with Dexter and Daisy when they both showed up and ran down the hall, obviously something. There was no noise but I thought maybe it was the postman or the driver from Amazon.”
They were both terrified by the front door and on high alert. Something was wrong.”
“I looked through the peephole to see the stairs filled with flames. I thought I saw things! I opened the door to shoot.”
A neighbor heard his landlord screaming for help and came out to put out the fire. They believe that, without the warning, the fire would have continued to spread, making any escape impossible.
Daisy and Dexter are heroes!
