In the case of TikToker Chassity Marchal, she expressed the view that it’s unjust to put adult children in a difficult position when they choose to cut ties with their parents. Posting a video on her account @chatwithcass, she emphasized the need for people to refrain from pressuring those who are not in contact with their parents to reconcile. Marchal began her message with:

“Stop telling people who are in no-contact with their parents that they need to either make things right, they need to talk to their parents or that ‘that’s your mom, like how can you just not talk to her.'”

Recalling an instance from a previous live session where someone advised her to mend things with her mom because she was “not guaranteed tomorrow,” Marchal expressed frustration, citing 26 years’ worth of past issues. The content creator highlighted that if it were her spouse who had treated her similarly, people wouldn’t recommend staying with him, and she believed the same standard should apply to parents.

Marchal asserted the importance of setting boundaries and refusing to accept mistreatment. While acknowledging the difficulty of staying away from her mom and the lingering unhappiness, she prioritized her well-being and made the decision she deemed best.

Despite Marchal’s explanation, some followers disagreed, suggesting that she might regret her decision someday. In response, Marchal posted a second clip emphasizing that children were also irreplaceable, and parents should treat their children better
