Kieran Byrne is a young man from Dublin who decided to visit Liverpool with a couple of friends. Local resident Colm O’Grady was out for a late night walk on Friday night when he noticed an old man walking down the street struggling to get back on his feet.

Three young men approached the old man, making Mr. O’Grady suspicious; And in anticipation, he started recording with his smartphone.

It turned out that the young men were worried about the old man, who had now fallen on his face, and helped him up.

He was drunk, so Kieran and his friends decided the right thing to do was to take the guy in a cab, which they did after pulling out their wallets and taking off a few pounds to cover the cost.

Mr O’Grady was immediately relieved that the situation was being handled with such kindness, and said it had given him “faith in humanity” and decided to share the video in his social media circles.

The video was released several times, but Mr. O’Grady felt it deserved media coverage. He sent it to his favorite newspaper, the Liverpool Echo, and the rest is viral history.
