Listening to a professional play the piano is one of the most beautiful sounds in the world.
Those that grow up with a piano in their home where they can spend their day tickling the ivories are lucky people.
I spent years trying to master “Chopsticks” on my grandma’s piano so always marvel at those who can sit down and play pages of classical music.
In a well known train station in London there is a piano dedicated to one of the most famous modern day pianists Elton John.
And he’s not the only celebrity to be associated with the piano in St Pancras International Station. Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum played a few tracks from his jazz album, released in 2018, on the public piano.
According to PopSugar Jeff gave the crowd a taste of his jazz album, The Capitol Studios Sessions.
And it’s not just celebrities that like to perform on the London piano.
A 91-year-old man named Dennis regularly shows off his musical skills on this particular public piano.
Recently got the surprise of his life when somebody joined him for a performance that stunned passers by.
Professional singer Ceili O’Connor stopped to sit with Dennis after hearing him play, according to CBS News.
Ceili told Dennis she was touring with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical “Cats.” So Dennis played the musical’s most popular song “Memory.”
Originally sung by English singer and actress Elaine Paige in London’s West End production of “Cats,” it went on to win writers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Trevor Nunn, the 1981 Ivor Novello award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
Dennis and Ceili made the perfect duo and soon a crowd had gathered around them drawn to the beautiful performance.
