Prince George’s seldom-seen godfather, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, shared a warm public reunion with Kate Middleton during a royal engagement on Thursday.
The 43-year-old Princess of Wales visited the Sudbury Silk Mills in Suffolk, England, where she greeted her former private secretary with smiles and hugs.
Lowther-Pinkerton, who currently serves as the Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, was the first private secretary to Prince William, Princess Catherine, and Prince Harry from 2005 to 2013.
His tenure lasted nearly twice as long as any of his successors, highlighting the close bond he has shared with the family over the years.
A former Special Air Service major, Lowther-Pinkerton played a key role in guiding the trio during the early days of their royal duties.
Their connection grew so strong that the Prince and Princess of Wales chose him as godfather to their eldest son, Prince George, born in 2013.
Lowther-Pinkerton’s own son, also named William, served as one of the two pageboys at William and Catherine’s 2011 wedding.
