The magazine’s editor, J Day, saw Martin breastfeeding and invited her to take him to the catwalk. I accepted immediately and eagerly. She looked great – in a gold metallic bikini, her baby suckling in her arms.

Bringing such a calm moment between mother and child to the public is both courageous and groundbreaking. Designed for amazing photos.

Martin caught a lot of attention walking the runway while nursing. She later expressed her feelings on Instagram, saying, “Words can’t describe how bad I feel…” She was touched by the opportunity to model for Sports Illustrated and bring her child with her on the trip.

She also plays on the fact that breastfeeding should become natural, stating in a later post, “As long as we all do what’s best for ourselves and what’s best for our baby, no matter what others think.”

Martin doesn’t think his decision is difficult, risky or daring. Breastfeeding is normal for her. She never intended to make headlines or become a viral star. It happened then, but now Martin is capitalizing on his newfound fame and encouraging people to normalize breastfeeding.

Expressing her love for her fellow models, the editor, and everyone who supported her, she boldly declares that women “can do anything!”
