Single father, Stuart Chaifetz became suspicious when he was informed from the school that his 10-year-old autistic son Akian is recently showing some violent behaviors.
Stuart knows his son very well, he’s quiet and calm most of the time, so he didn’t get why his son would act up like this, so he decided to takes matters into his own hands and find out the truth.
After trying to get answers from school’s principal and teachers, Stuart felt there was something more hidden from him. Getting worried for his son, he did something that some have judged it controversial, Stuart put a tape recorder into his son’s pocket before he heads to school. As a father, he said that he found it the only way to figure out what is actually happening to his son.
What he discovered after he played back the recording left him in shock. 6 hours of inappropriate and disgusting confrontations were recorded.
The teacher who was obviously of Akian’s condition, bullied the young boy, humiliating him in class and even calling him a “bastard” in front of his classmates.
Stuart couldn’t take this sickening situation his child was put in anymore, so he uploaded a video on YouTube sharing the recording with the public. While some of viewers criticized him for secretly recording teachers, others praised him for what he did saying that any parent worried about his child would do the same thing.
Now, the good father is doing his best to raise awareness about bullying and help stop it.
The school superintendent, Dr. Maureen Reusche said in a statement posted online that the district responded in the right way:
“I want to assure our parents that the individuals who are heard on the recording raising their voices and inappropriately addressing children no longer work in the district and have not since shortly after we received the copy of the recording,” she said.
