Heroes come in many forms and shapes.

Wildfires blazed throughout California displacing wildlife and humans. The fires destroyed homes, businesses, and animal sanctuaries.

The Safari West Animal Preserve in Santa Rosa was not spared either. The employees were asked to evacuate as the fire spread towards them.

Everybody left apart from a 77-year-old employee named Peter Lang.

Peter stayed behind to rescue the wildlife that were alone and in danger from the threatening flames. Peter used the regular garden hose to keep the flames back. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, he was able to rescue the animals single-handedly.

Sadly, Peter lost his house to the fire. Dealing with the loss is tough, but his strong spirit will get him through this difficult time.

Imagine using a regular hose pipe to put out the fire and work through the thick smoke? We applaud Peter for his selfless act.

Watch the heroic story of Peter and see what unfolded. Let us know what you think in the comments section.
