How often do you check on your friends, neighbors, and family members?

Sadly, many people do not have families that can look after them when they need help.

Theresa Hernandez is 71 years old and lives in Phoenix, AZ. The senior woman lives out of her car which is parked in front of her house. She does not have running water or electricity.

Fortunately, one of her neighbors Justin stepped in to assist. Justin had moved into the neighborhood a month ago. He felt touched when he saw the dilapidated condition the woman was living in.

Justin later discovered the house was in shambles making it unfit for habitation. It was covered with trash and feces on the inside and outside. After her husband’s death, she was unable to take care of herself and their two dogs.

Justin started a Paying it Forward Facebook page to assist the woman. Strangers started donating money while others volunteered to make the house livable.  Although there is still a lot that needs to be done, there is good progress in making the house habitable again.
