Most parents wish only happiness and health for their children. When their children grow old and become ready to start a new life with their partners, the parents could only be happy for them.
When Madison brought her fiancé to meet her parents in a restaurant, she thought everything is going to be okay and their parents will be glad she found her soulmate, but the unexpected happened and Madison was completely surprised by her parents’ reaction. Mike and Schuyler, Madison’s parents didn’t exactly share the same enthusiasm for the future husband.
Couples from different races often go through this issue, to bring home a partner from other religion or background is something not easy for the family or parents to accept, and Madison’s parents weren’t totally OK with their daughter engaging in a biracial relationship.
When Madison first shared the news of her engagement with Eric, they were very thrilled and excited for the two of them. She showed them the ring and they were happy to hear about them getting married. That was their first reaction until they saw who is Eric.
Their joy and happiness instantly turned into anger and reject. The customers who were sitting around them in the restaurant were shocked to hear the parents’ harsh criticism towards their daughter’s choice of her life partner.
Madison was obviously hurt and disappointed by her parents’ response but most of all embarrassed. On the other hand, Eric, himself, tried to calm them down and assure them that he will do his best to make their daughter happy for the rest of his life. Sadly, the parents didn’t change their minds and insisted on refusing the relationship.
