It was all fun and bliss for newlyweds Mitch and Courtney Waldron. The couple had been married for two months and was enjoying a beautiful camping trip when something tragic happened.
The campfire was dying and Mitch decided to pour gasoline to reignite it. The fire exploded and set his wife ablaze.
Mitch called 911 and says to the operator: “Ma’am, my wife is burning. Please hurry. We had a campfire and it exploded. We need help.” When she asks what caused the explosion, he says, “It was stupid on my part.”
Courtney was rushed to the hospital. She suffered 40 percent burns on her face and body. She spent 51 days in the hospital and underwent 20 surgeries that left her greatly disfigured.
Things took a turn for the worst two weeks after Courtney left the hospital. Mitch dumped her leaving her to take care of their daughter and foot the 2 million dollars medical bill alone.
Courtney and her daughter moved back to her parent’s house. Fortunately, her community heard about her story and decided to help out. They built a house for her and created a GoFundMe account dedicated to paying her medical bills.
Mitch has never offered an apology. Courtney believes Mitch leaving was a blessing in disguise since Mitch would have held her down.
