As the delivery process unfolded for Meehan, the potential for panic loomed, but the adept staff’s grace averted chaos. Reflecting on the swift pace of her first baby’s arrival, Meehan noted, “Our first baby decided she wanted to come as quickly as possible, so the entire group had to move fast.” Despite the urgency, Meehan found reassurance with a nurse by her side, providing explanations and support amid the overwhelming experience.
To lift Meehan’s spirits as she prepared to welcome her twins, the staff decided to inquire about potential names for the newborns. “As we were about to deliver, the team asked me if we had names picked out,” shared Meehan, who welcomed the twins in October 2022. The team’s response brought an unexpected and joyful surprise.
“We told the room that we loved the names Emma and Julia,” Meehan recounted. “The room all broke out in laughter as the two nurses that would be taking care of my babies were both named Emma and Julia!”
Meehan found solace in the coincidence, a welcome reprieve from the stresses of delivery. Amidst the chaos, she reflected, “At that moment, in all the chaos, we were able to stop for a second and enjoy that moment knowing that those names were meant to be.”
Expressing gratitude, Meehan acknowledged the special connection with the nurses and the entire team. “Those two nurses will always be special to us, and the entire team that took care of us that day (will) hold a special place in our hearts,” she said, anticipating a future filled with happy memories to share with her twins. “It will be a funny story to tell our girls!”
