The viral video has already received more than 17,000 views on Twitter and is breaking stereotypes normally associated with clergy members.

Father Ricardo Rivera is a theology teacher at Cardinal Gibbons Catholic High School in Ft. Lauderdale, according to ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Father Rivera had only attended one rehearsal for 15 minutes with the team to practice the walk on, but he learned the choreography on his own by watching a video.

On October 25th, Father Rivera walked into the court during the team’s dance routine and without missing a beat, he was a delight to the students and fans in the stands based on the audible screams.

Rivera shared a Bible passage — Philippians 4:4-5 — on his Facebook page following the viral moment.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near,” the passage reads.
