When Melanie Butera, a veterinarian, got this unusual patient in 2004, she her hubby had no idea that this little fawn would end up saving her!

Dillie, the fawn, was blind, and it would’ve been impossible for her to survive the night were it not for this couple. They not only saved the animal for the night, but they went ahead and decided to adopt Dillie. Wow!

Dillie is now part of this family living in Canal Fulton, Ohio, and she even has her own room and bed. She loves playing with dad and feasting lollipops. But amidst all this, there’s something that Melanie believes, and it’s going to shock you!

Just before they found the fawn, Melanie was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. However, rescuing and living with Dillie has taught her so much about life. She confesses that Dillie actually saved her life!
