For most people, working a 9-5 job is the big dream. But for people like this Argentinean mom, it’s the simple things in life that make it worth living. Get set for a surprise!
Lulu is a country girl from Argentina who now lives in the states with her young daughter. Lulu had gone back to school and when she finally got through, she moved out of her house. She decided to get a shipping container and turn it into the most amazing home ever, and that’s what she did!
The Argentinian purchased a shipping container and a flatbed trailer. Having no experience in construction or building, the determined mom got down to work. She spent one month and $4000: cutting, framing, insulating, and powering the spaces. She calls her home Wabi-sabi, a Japanese term that refers to embracing imperfection and appreciating that all is temporary.
You just won’t believe the final results. It has a heating unit, camping stove, insulation and a nice kitchen. What’s more? All this was done using cheap pre-used materials from the junkyard, and you won’t even notice it!
At one point, Lulu felt that she and her lovely daughter needed some more space, so she turned a trailer into their new bedroom. That way, they could have a nice playroom and get to enjoy their life to the fullest:“This was really a choice about how many hours do we have to our life, and how do I want to spend those hours?”
In turn, Lulu is challenging the stereotype of a “normal” mother in an effort to live a simpler life and spend more quality time with her daughter. Watch the video below to see the final results of this hard-working mom:
