A mother, Kaitlin Burge, chose not to hide her daughter, Beckett’s treatment for cancer, from her other child, Aubrey. In a Facebook post, Burge explained that children need togetherness and support and should not be kept at a distance from a sick family member.

Aubrey spent a lot of time with her brother, even by his side while he was getting sick, supporting and taking care of him. Burge was unflinching in her portrayal of the siblings’ support system, sharing details of vomiting and waking up to throw up.

Thanks to the medical team’s hard work and Aubrey’s support, Beckett eventually overcame his cancer after two years of treatment, and the siblings have maintained their close bond.

Burge admires the unbreakable bond between Beckett and Aubrey, who even walk to and from school together and sleep in the same room despite having their own separate rooms.
