When we think this generation is all about social media and video games, it turns out they’re some littme minds out there that still think about others’ feelings and be compassionate to them.

One of these kids is Parker Williams, he is a 3rd grader at Gorrie Elementary school in Florida. William gave an amazing gift to his teacher Mary Hall Chambers, but the reason why is more heartwarming.

A few weeks before, Mary Hall was having a normal day teaching in school, when she was surprised by a student handing her a note and a plastic bag with money.

At first, she thought the money was for a field trip to an agricultural center. Upon further inspection, the teacher realized the money wasn’t for the field trip at all.

The bag contained $15, and according to The Mirror, the handwritten note attached to it read, “Dear Mrs. Chambers, I don’t think teachers get paid enough for what they do so will you except (accept) this gift?”. There was also an arrow pointing towards the cash with a notation that stated it was Williams’ money, in case there was any question as to whether or not he had taken it from his mom or dad’s wallet.

When Chambers read the note, she instantly got goosebumps all over her body. Although the teacher of 16 years was practically moved to tears by the kind gesture, she couldn’t accept the money from her student.

Instead of making Williams feel bad about the gesture, she reciprocated the kindness by giving him a hug and writing him a note in return. Her note read, “I can’t accept this but appreciate the gesture, Parker. Students like you are the reason I teach.”

The third-grader’s father, Darrell Williams, learned about his son’s unique gift when he saw the note in his backpack. After sharing the story and pictures of the note on Facebook, his son’s kind deed quickly went viral.

Williams’ mother stated she had no idea what her son was up to and that he had done this all on his own. It just goes to show that kids learn by example and, if given the opportunity, will do great things.

Are you inspired by this heartwarming story? Be sure to pass it along to show others that a small bit of kindness has a great impact.
