The otter is a beast of the marten family that can be found in many parts of the world. Perfectly adapted to life in water, it reaches an average length of 90 cm (3 ft), exceptionally over 1 meter. The average adult animal weighs around 10 kilograms (22 pounds) and spends most of the time in the water where it catches fish.
